Description
A 17th Century Inn & restaurant, with bed and breakfast in 7 spacious accommodation rooms.
It's History Originally built in 1630, just before the great plague found its way to Eyam the place was known as the Kings Head until 1764. The present name come from the many meetings that local mine owners used it for. Since 1812, the inn has been used for meetings of the Prosecution of Felons committee, which is still in existence. There are many documented parts of the inns history which can be seenaround the pub, and as one would expect, the inn is haunted - two young girls who died in a fire on the site, before it was built have been seen as well as an ex-landlady who was murdered by her husband. They are said to roam the corridors at night with a rustling sound coming from the landlady's old fashioned dress.
